Tongkat Ali Extract and VapoFil™

What it is

Tongkat ali comes from Eurycoma longifolia, a tall, thin tree that grows in the rainforests of Malaysia, Indonesia and nearby countries. The name is Malay and is often translated as Ali's walking stick. In Indonesia the root is called pasak bumi, which means earth's nail, because the root grows deep and straight down. For generations people in the region have boiled the root into a bitter drink.

Where it comes from

The long roots are dug from mature trees, dried and ground. Makers then soak the powder in a liquid and concentrate it into an extract. A 100:1 extract means about 100 parts of dry root were used to make 1 part of extract, so the amount on the label looks small.
